Bakhabar Kissan (BKK), Pakistan’s largest agritech platform, has partnered with Neem, a leading embedded finance provider, to deliver tailored financial solutions for farmers. This collaboration optimises fund movement within BKK’s ecosystem, accelerates its business growth, and enables financial wellness for farmers across Pakistan.
Agriculture forms the backbone of Pakistan’s economy, contributing 24% to the GDP and employing nearly half the workforce, with women representing over 68% of its labour force. Despite this, financial inclusion remains a critical challenge. Many farmers rely on cash-based systems that hinder growth and expose them to exploitative practices and financial instability.
Through this partnership, Neem and BKK address these barriers by embedding digital financial systems directly into the Bakhabar Kissan platform. This empowers farmers to transact digitally, driving them into the formal financial economy while enabling BKK to maintain full control over financial operations, ensuring a more transparent and sustainable value chain.
Bakhabar Kissan is on a mission to make the lives of over 20 million farmers more profitable and sustainable. By combining expert advisory services, access to credit, and an integrated marketplace, BKK enables farmers to make smarter, data-driven decisions and improve efficiency across the agricultural value chain.
With Neem’s robust API integration, Bakhabar Kissan now offers users a fully embedded payment experience within the app. This empowers farmers to pay digitally through multiple reliable payment methods including bank accounts, cards and wallets making collecting payments more efficient and secure for BKK. This is an important step in integrating farmers into the digital economy by enabling them to make digital payments for expert advisory services or purchase agricultural inputs such as seeds, fertilisers, pesticides, veterinary drugs etc on the BKK platform. The integration also provides the BKK team with a centralised reporting dashboard, offering a holistic view of transactions, usage patterns, revenues, refunds, and other key insights—empowering them to make data-driven decisions and enhance operational efficiency.
At BaKhabar Kissan, our mission has always been to empower farmers with tools and resources that transform their livelihoods. This partnership with Neem takes us a step further in achieving financial inclusion for farmers by integrating digital wallets into their daily lives. By completing the end-to-end agricultural cycle—providing inputs through insurance and buying back their produce digitally—we are building a sustainable ecosystem that ensures farmers not only grow but thrive in a modernised agricultural economy, Khizer Alam Khan - Founder & CEO Bakhabar Kissan
As part of the broader collaboration, Neem and BaKhabar Kissan are also working to introduce a tailored wallet system within the BKK ecosystem to provide farmers with dedicated digital wallets. These wallets will enable farmers to easily transact within the Bakhabar Kissan platform, allowing them to securely fund their wallets and use them for a range of services, including purchasing agricultural inputs like seeds, fertilisers, and veterinary products, paying for advisory services or merchants, and receive payments for selling their produce, all within the BKK ecosystem.
Additionally, the wallet system will also streamline Bakhabar Kissan’s credit programs by enabling secure loan disbursements directly to farmers’ digital wallets. Farmers can then reinvest these funds into agricultural inputs or services available on the BKK platform, ensuring loans are utilised effectively. This system not only reduces reliance on cash but also enables BKK to monitor loan usage, linking it directly to agricultural activities and further accelerating farmers’ integration into the digital economy.
Currently, a pilot for the wallet system is underway, where loans are disbursed to farmers’ digital wallets and can only be spent on agricultural inputs from registered BKK merchants. Insights from this pilot will be leveraged to scale the wallet system across the entire BKK ecosystem, expanding its full potential to empower farmers nationwide.

Neem and Bakhabar Kissan are driving financial wellness in agriculture with a broad roadmap to bring more tailored solutions such as insurance products and productive lending, all anchored by robust payments infrastructure.
